the note

so i got this note from jordan...

it reads:

'I do not want to go to church tomorrow,

but i love you anyway.'

so i don't know, maybe i don't remember being six, or maybe i thought that i would not have to go through this until age 16...

but...

what do you do when your six year old gives you a note like this...

me, i laughed.

i thought that it was pretty clever...

but ended up telling her

'sorry, the dogs don't make good babysitters'

that's an easy one... she hates the dogs.

what would you do? what do you say to a kid that doesn't want to go to church?

i would ask her what about church she doesn't like and then try to find a way to fix/help make it be somewhere she wants to be. if our kids don't want to go somewhere, their only choice is to stay home in their room (no toys, no TV)- so they learn that being out where you're supposed to be is more fun than being stuck at home in bed for 3 hours.

leave her home with the dogs!

ha, i would just brush it off. make her go but don't make a big deal of it? who knows, does she have a friend there? she might just need someone to get attached to to look forward to seeing. that is probably the route i would take.

Okay first of all that is hilarious! What a funny girl.
I would just laugh about it & ignore it & remind her about it for the rest of her life.

Noah has an on and off issue with going to church. Some Sundays he would put up the biggest fight and others he'd be the first one out the door. I think it has gotten a little easier now that he has a friend.

This past Sunday, after every hymn, he would turn to me and ask "Are we pau with church?"
